About Us

Leo Martin and Adrian Blanco founded Kingsman while studying at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton — not to replicate the traditional consulting model, but to dismantle it.

Our Story

Built for students who deserve more.

Kingsman was founded in 2020 by Leo Martin and Adrian Blanco — one a Harvard graduate, the other a Yale graduate who had spent time inside Yale's own admissions office. Together they had watched the consulting industry operate in a way that troubled them both: high-volume practices that churned through hundreds of students a year, templated essays that sounded nothing like the person writing them, firms that cherry-picked the strongest applicants and claimed credit for outcomes they barely influenced.

Adrian had worked inside Yale's admissions office and knew with precision what readers were actually looking for — and how far most commercially-prepared applications missed the mark. Leo had navigated that same system as a student and arrived at the same conclusion from the other direction.

Together, they believed something fundamentally different was possible: a firm that started with understanding who a student actually was before deciding how to present them. Not just a better process, but an honest one — one that started with listening.

What Kingsman built is a dual-layer model that no one else in the industry offers. Every student works with two advisors: a peer mentor who attended their target school and lived the experience firsthand, and a former admissions officer who read files from the other side of the table. The combination closes the gap between aspiration and application in a way that neither perspective can achieve alone.

Five years on, that conviction has held. Kingsman has worked with hundreds of students and never once used a template. It takes on only the students it can genuinely serve — and the outcomes reflect it: students are 5.9× more likely to gain Ivy-level admission, and 71% are admitted to a T30 university.

The industry is still broken. Kingsman is the alternative — and has been, quietly, since 2020.

Our Philosophy

Three beliefs that shape
everything we do

These aren't values on a wall — they're the structural choices behind every session, strategy call, and essay.

01

The candidate matters more than the application

Admissions readers can feel when an application is a genuine expression of a person and when it's constructed. We invest in the student first — their profile, their achievements, their narrative — because a strong candidate produces a strong application naturally. The reverse is rarely true.

02

Strategy without insider knowledge is just a guess

What works at Harvard is not what works at Yale. What moves a Penn reader leaves a Princeton reader cold. We built a network of former admissions officers from every elite institution specifically because school-specific knowledge is not transferable — and guessing on a decision this important is not acceptable.

03

The best guidance is honest, not reassuring

Most students want to be told their essay is great. The ones who get in are the ones who heard the truth, rewrote it, and submitted something they were genuinely proud of. We don't tell students what they want to hear. We tell them what they need to hear — and we stay in the room while they do the hard work.

The Team

The People Behind the Results

Every Kingsman advisor has navigated elite admissions personally. We don't just know the process — we've lived it.

I built Kingsman because I'd seen firsthand what the industry was getting wrong. Every student deserves a strategy built around who they actually are — not a template.

Having read files from inside Yale's admissions office, I know exactly what readers are looking for — and what causes even strong candidates to be passed over.

The students who get in aren't always the most accomplished. They're the ones whose applications make a reader pause. That's what we build toward in every session.

STEM applicants often underestimate how much narrative matters. The strongest profiles I've seen are the ones that make the science feel personal — not just impressive.

A great essay doesn't sound like a college essay. It sounds like a person. My job is to strip away everything that doesn't belong until what's left is genuinely them.

International applicants face a harder version of the same problem: standing out in a pool where context is assumed and yours is invisible. Making that context legible is the work.
